WHAT IS THE BIBLE?

Over a period of fifteen hundred years, the Holy Spirit guided forty holy men living in three continents to write 66 separate books, all about how God love us and how concern he is with our lives. These writing were preserved and collected in one single volume we know as the Bible.

All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.
2Ti 3:16

We can say that the bible is the manual of mankind, because the Bible was inspired by God.

6 Reasons why you can TRUST the Bible!
(31 mins)

When you study the bible you are reading the Word of the living God. You shall not only engage your mind as when you study other subjects, but God intends to engage your heart and renew your mind so you can have the mind of Christ.

Personal interpretation can not be used when reading the bible:

But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. But he that is spiritual judgeth all things, yet he himself is judged of no man. For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ. 1Co 2:14-16

The Dead Sea Scrolls

Excerpt from the Dead Sea scrolls digital library:

"The most well-known texts among the Dead Sea Scrolls are the ancient religious writings found in eleven caves near the site of Qumran. Discoveries from additional sites yielded mostly documents and letters, especially papyri that had been hidden in caves by refugees from wars. While some of these writings survived as nearly intact scrolls, most of the archive consists of thousands of parchment and papyrus fragments. "
